Suggest A Remedy For Wearing Pull Ups

My 14 yr old son has recently told me he wants to wear pullups to bed, but I find catch him sneeking them on all the time. He doesn t want anyone else to know. I bought him pullups because he felt comfortable talking to me, but I told him this would not be a continuous thing. What do I do?

Hello,
I suggest that you determine if there is a physical disorder or emotional need. If there is a problem with the bladder or a unitary tract disorder, this would require treatment. Once resolved, normal function should return and there would be no physical need. At age 14, emotional concerns could relate to peer pressure and dealing with the onset of adulthood. Your physician can discuss this further and refer to a specialist if needed. If your son is due for a physical, I would recommend addressing these concerns while scheduling this appointment.
Thank you for your inquiry.
