Hello, I m travelling to south America in September and October this year (2016). my friend and I (both female) want to go to the amazon in Brazil. We wont be pregnant or planning on getting pregnant over there. However we are worried about future pregnancies. If we contract the virus will it affect us in the future when we do fall pregnant? thank you

For preventing pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease you can use condom with spermicidal jelly that is best contraceptive in your case.
If you both are healthy then chances of viral transmission by sexual route like herpes or HPV is very less.
Even if herpes or HPV like viral sexual infection is acquired then it is treatable.
Herpes and HPV like viral infection can affect pregnancy and can lead abortion.
So for prevent its transmission better to use barrier method like condom while sex.
