Suggest A Safe And Effective Way To Prevent Unplanned Pregnancy

Hi doctor,
I am mansi
I had unprotected sex last month with my fiance. Our marriage is in August.
We had sex after 2 days my periods over . And on dis month my periods almost 4-5days skip. Now I am worried i might pragnent.
Pls suggest me pills or something to prevent from unwanted pregnancy on early stage.

Hi,
I understand your query.
Conception is possible with an unprotected sex around ovulatio 9which is on 14th day of cycle in a regular 28 days cycle)
Looking at the day you had the sex ( about 6-9th day of cycle) you have less chances of conception this time.
The period can get delayed due to emotional/psychological changes brought about by first sex.
Still , in case you want to clear doubt, go for Urine pregnancy test after 8 days delay in period.
*If the test is +ve you can take MT kit for terminating the pregnancy
under a doctor's care.
* plan B contraception is to avoid unwanted pregnancy- the pills are taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex. earlier the better.
* after marriage, if you want to delay 1st child birth, you can use oral cyclical contraceptive pills/ IUD as per a gynecologist's advise.
