Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had an allergic reaction to Monistat, for yeast infections. What is a good substitute to try? I haven t a clue what ingredient in the Monistat I reacted to, although there are some I know I can not tolerate. Lanolin, floral scent, citric acids (worst reaction to oranges), niacin, etc. I have not gotten rid of the yeast infection and it is getting out of hand. Do you have an option that may work?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
For yeast infection you can use: Itraconazole /Fluconazole tablets.
Improve your immune system by having proper diet. Add fish/ cod liver oil tablets or multivitamin tablets to your routine.
If you get recurrent fungal infection check your blood sugar level, HIV, HBsAg.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
