Hello,

If it is only pain in your ear, I think you don't need to do anything from short h/o you gave. However, if you have some fullness in ear then you may need audiometry and treatment accordingly. Sudafed is of no use if you don't have cold like symptoms.

General Advise:
1. Keep cotton plug in ear
2. Simple analgesic like acetaminophen or paracetamol SOS
Next step:
Visit your ENT physician on or off line.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

General Surgeon Dr. T Chandrakant's  Response
Hi,

Noted your short history of throbbing with heart rate, GP thinks you are wasting your time, you have tried Sudafed but no results, had ear infection 6 weeks ago.
All your history is indicative that you still have inflammation in the affected ear, causing the typical throbbing you have explained in spite of normal blood pressure.
Hence I would advise you the following:
Consult an ENT Surgeon as son as possible so that you can have proper ENT Endoscopy to get a proper diagnosis.
The cause will be found.
Necessary investigations like CT scan or MRI can tell the exact cause inside so that proper antibiotic, anti-inflammatory medicine can help you to get cured.
If a specific cause is found then surgery may be required if the medical management fails.
Do not blow nose.
Continue medicines as per your Doctor's advise.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
