Hello,

Yes, you can start with Canesten cream for the yeast infection. This cream contains Cotrimazole which is very effective against Candida infection. Alternatively, you can start with oral medication, Fluconazole (Fole) 150 mg once a day for 5 days.

There are some tips that you can use to prevent recurrent candida infections. You should avoid tight clothing and switch to cottons if possible. Too much sweating can cause thrush. Exercise regularly, eat balanced diet and maintain your immunity. Do not spend too much time in hot baths or bubble baths. Keep the vaginal area dry. Do not forget to urinate after every sexual intercourse.

If you do not find relief regarding thrush in 5 days, you should contact your prescribing doctor and ask to change antibiotics you are taking or reduce dosage.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
