Suggest Alternate Medication To Eliquis While Suffering From AFib

I had gallbladder surgery and came out with Afib, it has not converted. I also have had nothing but extreme side effects being on Eliquis. What other medications are available in place of Eliquis. I have told my doctor that I will discontinue Eliquis.

Hello,

Eliquis is an anticoagulant and is newer drug to prevent thrombus. If you cannot tolerate eliquis. You can switch to conventional drugs like warfarin.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
