Suggest Alternative Medication For Allergic Rhinitis

Hi,

I am suffering with Allergic Rhinitis and I was prescribed with Odimont 10 from Zydus healthcare Ltd. and Duonase Nasal Spray which comprises of Azelastine Hydrochloride and Fluticasone propionate.

I am a complete Vegetarian. My symptoms aggravate if I take sugary foods or any fruits or if even exposed to dust and cold.
Just wanted to know if there is any homeopathic or ayurvedic alternatives to the above medicines.

1.Since it is allergic hopefully you have check with an ENT specialist regarding the same, thus prevention of recurrent attacks is the main aim of treatment.
PS. since sugary foods and fruits are rich in Fructose which are considered as problematic foods in allergic rhinitis thus stay away from them.
2. take high protein diet : egg (white), soyamilk, pumpkin, squash, watermelon, peanuts, almonds, if non-vegetarian (meat) are choices , legumes, sprouted pulses/cereals, milk with protein powder [since blockage of nose is an issue thus yogurt and beans are not recommended] and deep breathing Exercises [anulom vilom]
3. take vegetable soup, which help thin mucus, and promote nasal drainage.
4. do not consume caffeine containing beverages, as they lead to dehydration and resulting nasal blockage
5. Pratimarsh nasya [errhine therapy] can be practiced without any complication
6. Prescription medicines for you are: syrup septilin, chitrak haritki, nardiya lakshmi vilas ras, vyoshadi vati, sitopladi churan, shadbindu tail, cephagraine nasal drops
7. You can ask about other dietary Regime and Dose Management on: bit.ly/drmunishsood

Homeopath Dr. Aditi Ranadive's  Response
Hello Mr. Shankar
In context of your query, being a homeopathic doctor, I would surely suggest you go for homeopathic treatment. It will help you reduce your sensitivity to foodstuffs which other people can easily have. Since homeopathic medicines act on the immunity of the patient owing to their dynamic action, this hypersensitivity to foodstuffs and resulting symptoms can be very well relieved by homeopathy.
