Suggest Alternative Medication In Place Of Topamax While Suffering From Chronic Migraine
I am looking for an alternative to Topamax for my chronic migraines. I have taken it for 10 years. I have memory and word recall issues. I now have kidney problems. I tried to go off gradually once, but the migraines came back. I still have them every so often, and do still have mild headaches at least 5 times a week.

Start flunarizine as it is a good alternative to topiramate and takes 1 week to note improvement. Dosage can be increased. Flunarizine is prophylactic and is good for vascular headaches or migraines in general. Long term side effects noted is borderline weight gain due to increased appetite.
