Suggest Alternative Treatment For Urosepsis

My husband has had his Prostate removed May 9. Had his first PSA yesterday, it was 0.012, says yesterday he had faeces coming out of his penis? He has a phone hook up with his Surgeon today. Had Urosepsis and was hospitalised for it 2 weeks ago. Doesn t seem to be improving in any area. He is 71 in September.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Urosepsis especially after surgical procedure may be a nosocomial infection and it can be treated with 4th generation Cephalosporin, Piperacillin-tazobactam, Imipenem or meropenem.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
