Suggest An Alternate To Cortisone Injection For Possible Tear In Knee

I got a cotisone injection in my knee today. My ortho said I have a possible tear. I got it 11 hours ago. Since then by the hour my knee has been getting worse. It has now gotten to the point I can not take the ice pack off with out sever pain. Is this normal?
