Suggest An Alternative For Trimovate Cream To Cure Skin Rashes Under The Breast

I have been prescribed trimovate cream for rash underneath my breast. It seemed to help but due to manufacture problem the pharmacy was unable to fill my prescription and only gave me 30g and owes me a 30g tube. Is there a similar cream my doctor can prescribe?

Hi there,

Trimovate is a combination of steroids with an antifungal and antibiotic. Intertrigo, or rashes under the breasts are more often due to fungal or yeast infection, rather than bacterial, due to the dampness there.

I would suggest starting with a steroid-antifungal cream like Daktacort which has miconazole with hydrocortisone for at least a week, and adding the antibiotic cream only if needed later. Options of antibiotic cream would be fucidic acid, or mupirocin.

Hope this helps, please let me know if you have further questions.

Regards,
Dr. Teh
