Suggest An Alternative Medication For Chlotrimeton For Asthma And Allergy
I have terrible allergies to grass weeds and pollen and also have minor asthma - I take Singulair daily and an inhaler - my doctor said I could take chlortrimeton too but it makes me sleepy - is there another OTC that would work well that is less drowsy? I would ask my doc but it s Saturday
You can try Loratadine 10 mg at night or Cetirizine 10 mg at night to help with allergy. These are new antihistamines and are supposed to cause little or no drowsiness. Rarely, patients may feel drowsy with these drugs as well, but taking them at night will help prevent this.
If you still feel drowsy after taking these drugs, then you will need to talk to your doctor again.
I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. Let me know if I may assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
