Suggest An Alternative Medication For Gabapentin To Treat CRPS
I have CRPS, they have given me subcutaneuos lidicaine, which did not work and made me sick. They have me on 3000 gm of gabapentin. That, too, has nasty side effects which are making my eyesight blurry, and words come out backwords,..cannot think straight, very depressed. I am looking for alternative treatments, Ketamine being one of them. would you share your thoughts,..desperate.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Sorry to hear you are suffering CRPS There exist many treatment options for CRPS.However, most of the drugs have their effects and your Doctor will only prescribe these drugs after examining their risks and their benefits.Other treatment options for CRPS are: Normal over the counter pain relievers, other anti-epileptics other than Gabapentin, anti-depressants, corticosteroids, sympathetic nerve blockers like anesthetics including low dose intravenous ketamine.I will not say ketamine is better, i will say you see your Doctor again to start by evaluating if modifying your dose of Gabapentin may help.He is still in the best position to try other treatment options given that he has followed you up for some time already and knows the history of your problem.Your Doctor knows best why he placed you but on Gabapen. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
