Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Franol(theophiline) is a bronchodilator and can help in the preventive management of asthma crisis. It may be used in the long term as its benefits has been show to be far more than the risks associated with its use.Other bronchodilators that can be used in the long term are:
-Inhaled corticosteroids since they do not have the the side effects of corticosteroids taken orally.
-Leukotrene modifiers
-Long acting beta agonist like slmeterol.
You may see your Doctor to try any of these. However, if you are very ok with franol, you may continue with it.
Hope my answer will help you
Best regards
