Suggest An Alternative Of Dorzolamide Eye Drops

I have Glocuma and use Dorzolamide eye drops, but at this moment there is a nation wide shortage on these drops which are very much necessary. I did however find that pets use this same eye drop. Is that the same drop for humans. Can I buy my drops from the pet pharmacy??? I do understand that I need a prescription and I do have one from my doctor who is also aware of this shortage

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi. welcome to 'Ask A Doctor service' . i have read your question and here is my advice.
To be very honest , using veterinary drugs fro humen cannot be advised because there may be difference in the strength , and also the salt and dose. So its not a very good idea. If the drug is out of market , you can ask your ophthalmologist as there are many other drugs available for the same problem
Hopes i have answered your question. I will be delighted to answer any further queries regarding this issue.

Regards
Dr Rahman
