Suggest An Alternative Of Klonopin For Treatment Of Depression And Anxiety
I have had a baby 6 weeks ago and have been put on klonipin and Prozac for my anxiety and depression and in suffering from post Partum. I have refills but no doctor currently. I m having side effects like headaches depression is worse and feelings that don t feel good even susidial. My daughter would be better off with out me. Please give me advice on a alternative medicine then klonipin
Klonopin is generally given for depression only for a short time (not more than 2 weeks) to help with anxiety and depression while Prozac takes its own time to work. Generally, after two weeks you should feel better with the symptoms and have fewer side effects of the drugs.
On the other hand, any suicidal thoughts should be taken seriously and warrant another visit with a doctor and meanwhile, you should talk with family members about it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
