Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dr has taken me off of alendronate sodium tablet for osteoporosis which I have been taking for 10 years and wants me to start on Prolia. Am very concerned with side affects and not sure I should be taking this medication. Do not have history of fractures. Is there something else I can be using?
depends on your bone scan and why did the doctor asked you to stop aldronate, did he mention the reason, there is no problem using prolia, but was alandronate ineffective as your treatment or were you having any side effects, that needs to be addressed regardless prolia is a better medicine and can be used side effects are of all the drugs in my suggestion you can start prolia if you encounter any of the adverse reaction than you can switch back to alondronate
