Suggest An Alternative Treatment For Arthritis

I am a 66 yr old with two stents, type 2 diabetes, controlled with 500 mg Metformin. I have a knee injury ( hype-extension) untreated, and the VA claims they won t do an MRI to find out what is torn, claiming they I have arthritis. What should I be doing? Ibuprofen is not appropriate. Aleve? (Naproxen)?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms can be related to arthritis. I suggest to do some examinations for further evaluation. I suggest to check rheumatoid factor level and ERS level. Meanwhile, I suggest using Naproxen 500 mg for pain relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
