General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my surgical experience, red itchy rash on the foreskin indicate balanitis through bacterial or fungal infection most likely. Salient features to be kept in mind for best possible recovery:
- cleansing of local area by retracting foreskin and antiseptic soap or liquid application
- Prescription of antibiotics, anti fungal and anti inflammatory medications by your doc
- Control of blood sugar
Surgery in terms of circumcision may be a need of time in many of the cases of balanitis with diabetes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
