Suggest An Ideal Medication To Manage Allergy

Hello, My father is allergic to a lot of things including red dye #40 and blue dye #2 in pills. As far as we, the dr and the pharmacy know there is no white pill version of eliquis for his afib. So our option was to have him take clear liquid gel caps of Benadryl. However I recently found out that Benadryl is on a list of meds to not be taken on a regular basis, especially for older patients, because it can greatly increase chances of dementia. I am looking for a white or clear equal to eliquis, and warfarin won t work for him, or another anti itch medicine that can relieve the feeling he gets from taking the colored eliquis. Can you please help me? Thank you

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that there are other treatment options which can substitute eliquis.

In this regard, I would recommend discussing with his doctor on the possibility of switching to Rivaroxaban or Dabigatran.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
