Suggest An Over The Counter Supplement To Increase Sex Drive In Women
Since my hysterectomy, I ve had little to no sex drive. Is there an over the counter supplement I can take to increase my sex drive? I ve tried topical creams, but they all seem to be the same; mentholated cream that feels more like Ben-gay on my vagina, and is not remotely arousing. Those creams also make oral sex almost impossible. They smell bad, taste bad and my husband says his tongue gets numb. Is their a little blue pill (Viagra) for women?

In the United States, there is no over-the-counter product that increases libido (in women or men) that has been shown to be effective. The FDA recently approved a medication called Addyi, which has been show to increase sexual drive and enjoyment in women, however you cannot drink alcohol while taking it, which some patients find intolerable.
However, I suggest you talk to your GYN doctor about hormone replacement therapy. Depending on your age and risk factors, you may be a candidate for estrogen supplementation which can sometimes improve libido after hysterectomy.
So in summary, there are no over-the-counter products that increase libido in women. Your GYN doctor may be able to prescribe Addyi or some type of hormone replacement if you are interested in a preasription product.
