Suggest Antibiotics Without Side Effects For Pneumonia
I have had pneumonia for 3 weeks. Treated w amoxillian (every 8hours) for 15 days. Stopped Symbicort (1puff daily) after 4 days because became very jittery. Ct scan shows significant improvement. Developed redness from iodine contrast. Treated with Benadryl but May have overdone Benadryl and now have gastritis and dry mouth. Urgent Care prescribed omeprazole and Zantac. Pulmonogist still hears wheezing and prescribed antibiotics (Leve???) for 5 days, Prednisone 2 weeks, and nebulizer. Feeling weak, faint, and can t eat, food doesn t go in. Scared of taking more meds. I get so many side effects.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of Pneumonia under treatment with Amoxicillin, got improvement on CT scan but your developed redness of the skin with the iodine contrast, Pulmonologist is still hearing wheezing on auscultation, and now you have been prescribed Levofloxacin I think, Prednisolone, and nebulizer. Levofloxaxin is the one on which you have been already put on, is the best one and your Doctor who is treating you knows the best .Please continue on as advised your Doctor and you will be fine.
