Suggest Any Alternative Medication For Lortab

I have been on lortab 7.5 a while now and I told my doctor that i was getting addicted so i wanted to stop a while. After going with out them i felt myself day by day being in more pain. I called them to get a refill and now they wont give them back to me what can i do to get him to give them to me.
