Suggest Any Remedy To Heal From Rhinitis And Sinusitis.

My husband suffers from Rhinitis and Sinusitis, and is a type 2 diabetic and currently appears to have a virus. He has a severe cough bringing up heaps of phlem for the past 2 weeks, he has had a chest xray which was clear, ( he suffered from Puemonia last June) sputum tests and blood tests. Our doctor has given him nothing to relieve the coughing, which get to the stage of retching to bring up phlem. He has been taking Duro-Tuss chesty cough tabs for 3 days with little relief. He has been prescribed Amoxy/clav tabs and Azithromycin along with Prednisolone to assist with his problem. He is currently not taking this medication but has repeat prescriptions. Our Dr is not available on weekends and we intend to travel tomorrow, mu husband has an appointment in Thursday to see a Respitary specialist but needs some relief now. Any suggestions

The cough syrup should be fine and antibiotics or steroids are not really necessary. Try steam inhalations with tincture of benzoin and eat small, frequent meals. Do not take the cough medicine for more than seven days; switch to saline nose drops only, along with steam.
