Suggest Best Treatment For Glanzmanns Thrombasthenia?

my daughter has had a severe nose bleed. She has glanzmanns thrombasthenia. She was admitted to the hospital for 2 nights. They gave her 8 units of platelets. We are home now but she still has a drop or two leaking every hour. How can I help stop the blood.

Hi welcome to the health care magic

Your child having condition in which platelet receptor gp3a or 2b absent and hence coagulopathy occurs leading bleeding....

For severe hemorrhage platelet transfusion given as per history....

Now you have to take care that she doesn't prescribed any anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen or aspiring otherwise bleeding can worsen...

For bleeding trenexemic acid or newer approved drug like desmopressin prescribed According to need..

If hemoglobin low than iron syrup or tablet prescribed....

If recurrent severe hemorrhage occurs and not helped by any means than stem cell transplantation is another mode of treatment

Consult hematologist for her examination and further discussion accordingly....

Take care
