Suggest Better Treatment For Fever, Sore Throat And Runny Nose

Sir I myself a doctor from newdelhi, India.. I m having high grade fever , sore throat , running nose since 3dayzz.. I have been takin azithral 500mg OD since last 2 dayz nd paracetamol 650mg SOS .. But my fever nor d infection subsiding yet !!!!shud I change into some higher antibiotics or Wat???

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It can be due to flu or upper respiratory tract infection. So my suggestion is to continue the medicine for at least a week time. If it does not improve even after that you can get a blood test done. For now you can continue the above medicine and along with it:
1. Gargle with a warm saline solution that is by mixing 1 teaspoon salt in a glass of water and warm it to make a luke warm solution.
2. Take a combination of decongestant like Phenylephrine, mucolytics, like Ambroxol and anti allergics, like levocetrizine and another combination of Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen.
3. Do steam inhalations.
4. Avoid spicy and chilled foods.
5. Sip on warm water throughout the day.
