Suggest Better Treatment For Hair Loss And Dandruff

Hi, I am Dr. ALi...i recently graduated n completed my medicine rotation..i want to ask u a Dermatology related problem.
I am losing my hairs v fast...i consulted many drs. they say its SEBORRHIC DERMATITIS....they prescribed hivate lotion, steroids...
but no benefit. i still hav a strange kind ofdandruff in my hairs n little plaques which continously slough off...
help me plz

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from Seborrheic Dermatitis commonly known as Dandruff and common causes for it can be fungal infection, genes, change in weather, poor hygiene conditions, poor immunity etc..
Hair loss can occur due to destruction of the hair follicles with dandruff..
I would suggest you to consult a Trichologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and microscopic examination of the flakes can help in diagnosis and treated accordingly..
You can be advised to apply shampoo containing Ketoconazole, coal tar, salicylic acid, zinc, selenium, sulfides etc..
You can also be advised to massage the scalp with steroid lotion..
You should also keep the scalp clean and avoid moisture accumulation to prevent infection..
