Suggest Cause And Remedy For Brown Discharge And Cramping

Last month I forgot to put a new patch on so my period arrived a week early. I then forgot to pick up my prescription for the month. I went all June/July without it. Well this month period never came. I had been stressed so I figure that delayed it. I started having brown discharge and some cramping but never had a period. The cramping went on for 4 days and discharge for 5. I took 2 hpt and negative. What could this be from?
