Suggest Cause And Remedy For Cramps And Soreness In Sternum Region

I have been experiencing painful cramping from underneath the sternum and across the left upper abdomen. In that region I also have odd feelings of squishy, tingling type sensation. It usually comes on if I bend over. It is also a bit sore when I palpate it. Thank you Jenny McCalman

Hi Dear ,

As per you query you have cramps and soreness in sternum region along with feelings of squishy, tingling type sensation. Well the symptom you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like heart valve diseases , coronary artery disease , bronchitis, chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), ,gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and pancreatitisSternoclavicular joint disorders . I would suggest you to consult cardiologist for proper examination . Doctor may order chest x-ray , ECG , TMT and complete blood profile . Doctor may prescribe betablockers , calcium channel blockers , nitroglycerine and drugs like aspirin . Doctor may also order angiography and may refer you to orthopedic surgeon or chest specialist . For now apply warm compresses to chest and take proper rest .
