Suggest Cause And Remedy For Heavy Menstrual Bleeding

I am a 43 year old woman. I am 110 lbs and 5 feet tall. I am having a menstrual period 4 times a month lasting 4-5 days and unusually heavy flow. I am already very low on iron and blood pressure is always very low. I also suffer severe headaches the day before I begin to bleed. Why?

Hi,

You should get ultrasound pelvis to rule out any structural causes as well as hormonal profile for any functional irregularities causing such derangement in the menstrual cycle. It's better to get yourself evaluated in detail by a gynecologist consultation.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
