Suggest Cause And Remedy For Raised Lumps On The Eyelid

I have two little round lumps on my right eyelid that are raised & another one starting on my left eyelid what might this be? I have had these 2 on my right eyelid for probably about 4 years. My mother had the same thing with her eyelid & these little raised lumps. I never had the chance to ask her about hers as she passed away 8 yrs ago

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

If these lumps seem to be increasing in number or spreading it could be a stye requiring medical attention. For now, please wash your hands and face as many times as possible. Do not touch any discharge from the eyes with your hands, use a clean tissue and dispose of it once you wipe the discharge. The most important treatment approach is hot fomentation which in my opinion needs to be applied at least twice every hour while you are awake for the first 7 days and then 4-5 times a day for the next 2-3 weeks.

Best wishes.
