Suggest Cause And Remedy For Sharp Pain In The Upper Ribcage

Hi there, i have a sharp pain in my upper right ribcage going into my breast when i breath in deeply?? Sometimes the pain stops me from breathing in deeply for a while. I have had this for years but never sought any advice. Also when im going to sleep, everynow and again it feels like breathing isnt automatic but something i have to conciously do?? Any advice would be helpful, thanx
