Hello,

If you vomit blood and also have a burning or gnawing pain in you stomach, the most likely causes are a stomach ulcer or severe inflammation of the stomach lining. Bleeding happens when the ulcer or inflammation damages an artery. I suggest to go at the emergency room for an abdominal ultrasound and further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
