Suggest Cause And Treatment For Raised SGPT And SGOT Levels
Dear Doctor
My wife is 37 year old Height 155 Cms Weight 76 Kgs she has irregular period for the past 1.5 years and now she has undergone a health check up the results are Blood glucose fasting 138 mg/dl 2Hour post glucose
268 SGPT 109 IU/L SGOT 113 GGTP 78 and ultra sound liver shows enlarged increase in echogenicity suggestive of fatty changes and
BP is 130/96 Consulted Gasteroentereology and diabetology they advised to take Urosocol 300 1-0-1 Cetapin xr 500 1-0-1 Tazloc 20 1-0-0 and advised to meet with Sugar fasting PP and liver profile after 2 months.
But the general practitioner advised to be on diet and exercise with live 52 for 3 weeks and to do repeat the Blood fasting PP and sgpt sgot
Before taking the medicine advised by the gateroendrologiest and diabtologist.
Kindly explain why the increase in SGPT SGOT and advise.

Increased SGPT and GGT indicates liver injury.
Increased SGPT may be related to dyslipidemia as your wife also have fatty liver.
Fatty liver is a reversible condition.Underlying cause need treatment.
SGOT is non specific and it increases in many conditions.
I agree with your gastroenterologist.Gastroenterologist has prescribed right medicines.She should take it continuously.
Urosocol tablet contains ursodeoxycholic acid 300 mg.It helps in regeneration of liver cells.
Tazloc is an anihypertensive drug.
Cetapin xr is for elevated blood sugar.
She should also avoid red meat and high fat milk products.
She should avoid fried and junk food.She should also increase her physical activity.
