Suggest Cause For Dizziness Nausea With Loss Of Vision

Over the past few years i have experienced times where i get extrememly dizzy, nauseas, weak, start shaking, and have black spots appear in my vision or lose my vision all together. I usually have to drink some water and sit down in a cool area for several minuets to feel better. Is this serious?

Hello. Thanks for posting your query.
This is Dr. Jaydeep and i am glad to assist you.
So you have been experiencing sudden episodes of weakness, dizziness and a feeling of loss of consciousness. Some people have a tendency of developing Postural Hypotension.
Let me explain the condition in detail. If you are sitting down and working for a long time, and stand up suddenly, you can develop those symptoms. After waking up from sleep, on standing up, you can develop such symptoms. This happens due to a sudden drop in blood pressure due to change in body posture. This is one of the possibilities why it can be happening. So from next time, try to stand up slowly and avoid fast movements. You can get your BP evaluated on sitting down, and immediately after standing up. If the values are different and there is a more than 10 mm of Hg difference then it is due to postural hypotension.
One more thing that can be causing your symptom is anemia. You should get an complete blood count done to get a better picture. If you have low hemoglobin, you can consume more iron rich foods like green leafy vegetables, more of meat and if required you can take additional iron supplements.

Hope that answers your query.
