Suggest Cause For Tingling Pain In Upper Back Muscles In Elderly

I have been working out to get in shape and lost 44 lbs over the last 15 months. Now all of a sudden, I am getting spasms and tingling and pain in my upper back muscles around my shoulder blades. It sort of reminds me of the pain and burning I had with shingles, but I don t have any marks whatsoever. If I exercise it happens late in the day; and if I do nothing it happens. I am 61.

It seems to be a muscular pain rather. However, nerve root compression may also give rise to similar symptoms. Do regular streches and yoga to get rid of this instead of taking any painkiller.
