Suggest Chances Of Survival With Small-cell Lung Cancer In Elderly

My 86 year old mother has been in GREAT health all of her life. Until about 3 months ago she was having what she thought was "sinus trouble" we took her to a lung specialist, they found out that it was not sinus trouble, it was small cell lung cancer. she then fell and ruptured a disk in her back. so that put the chemo off until last night. (2/16/2011) she fell and ruptured her disk on the 28th of January. and was diagnosed with small-cell lung cancer on the 26th on January. how long do you think her life is with "heavy-doses" of chemotherapy? and how long if she decides to stop the chemo. she has been a smoker since she was 16, and also has COPD and is on 15 liters of O2. I just do not want to see her to suffer. She has been in to good of health.
