Suggest Complications Of Having A Dead Testicle

I had epididymitis which resulted in my one testicle loss. My testicle starting becoming smaller in size and now its pea size. This started 3 years back and now am married and father of a son. My living with dead testicle but I have not removed it surgically. Surgeon at that time (3 years back) advised me to remove this but at the same time told me that it will not affect me in any manner if I don't get this removed and let it in my body. I don't want any surgery. Want to know whether keeping dead testicle would affect me in any way. pl help.

Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
Great understanding you have. Go for an ultrasonography and color doppler. If the blood supply to the testicle is normal in spite of small size you do NOT have to get the testis removed, You can keep it as it is.
There is then no need of surgery at all.
To rule out any problem and Cancer you have to do follow-up scan every year.
If there is still epididymitis, then there is no point in keeping the parts, You may please go for removal of the both, get the histopathology done.
