Suggest Complications With Low Iron Levels

My 52 year old daughter was told by her doctor yesterday that her iron level was 8. He is to start an iron drip next week. What are the symptoms of such low count? Best way to treat? She has many other problems going after blood clots on the lungs and is on Pradaxa Thank you

Hi there, I have understood your concern and I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

First of all do not panic.

With such medical history like that of your patient, I usually suggest as follows -
Please seek prescription support from your treating doctor for iron preparation tablets containing Ferrous sulphate, once a day for 3 months, along with vitamin B 6,9,12 supplements regularly.
Include more portions of fruits and green leafy vegetables and salads in daily diet.
8 to 10 black raisins to be chewed at night.
A tablet of anti helminth like Albendazole to be chewed up stat.

With low Hemoglobin levels, person can experience fatigue, breathlessness, forgetting things, repeated infections etc.

I hope this answer helps you.
Thanks.
