Suggest Confirmatory Tests Post Treatment For Pulmonary Tuberculosis

Hello Dr. I am on a treatment of Pulmonary Tuberculosis , now its few days over 9 months me taking the medicines and my Dr. has told me to stop taking medicines and i have no problem regarding my Health. But when i asked him, Do i need to get some tests done to confirm that the tuberculosis germs has been completed eradicated from my body? He replied negative, he said the medicines should not be consumed for more than 9 months so i don t need to do any tests. So i want to know what should be done to confirm that the disease has completely treated? Please Advise..

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

In some centers, patients with active TB have regular sputum (mucus seen on coughing) analysis till the sputum no longer shows this bacteria.

Your doctor would be able to tell you whether this option is available for you. At least one may be suggested to make sure that you are clear.

I hope this helps
