Hi,
Can we have intercourse without any protection on the first day of having femilon tablet. We don't want to have a child and want to use the tablet as a contraceptive. If not, what are effective contraceptive medicines to have intercourse without physical protection for a female or male as they give decreased pleasure.

I understand your question.
Femilon is a combined contraceptive,safe & maintains hormonal physiology of menstrual cycle. You can continue with it as a cyclical contraceptive , It should be taken at same time each day for 21 days ( without missing it in between.)
Femilon 1st pill when starting the drug is taken on 1st day of menses. If not so, patients are advised to use additional contraceptive ( barrier method-condom) for 1st 7 days.
Now the possibility conception after taking 1st pill will depend on which day of cycle it was taken. You continue taking the pill as directed- In case the next period is delayed, pregnancy test should be done followed by MTP if pregnancy is +ve.
