Suggest Cream To Be Used On Incision Scars Post Breast Reduction Surgery

I had breast reduction surgery almost 2 months ago. Everything has been healing great, but I want to put something on them to try and reduce the scars. I started using mederma 4 days ago and have noticed that it makes my incision sites red and itchy. Can neosporin help with the scars? Or can they be used together?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest using an antibiotic cream such as Neosporin to prevent an infection.

I also recommend maintaining good hygiene in the scar area.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
