Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i got stung by a wasp a couple of weeks ago,i went into anaphylactic shock i was taken to hospital and adrenline was given in my thigh.i was kept in for the afternoon.
i currently dont have an epi pen.i went to the doc they wont give me one until i have had allergy testing done, the waiting list is 6 months.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....
As per your complain it seems that you have an allergic reaction to the wasp sting that released toxin under your skin.. You should consult an Allergist and get evaluated and he can perform an allergic testing to rule out for allergic reaction, although it is kind of clear that you have allergic reaction and he can start instilling an Immunotherapy so that in future if there are similar incidences of wasp sting the reaction will be less severe.. You can also immediately take anti allergics like Allegra and steroid like Methylprednisolone to reduce the severity of allergic reaction..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
