Suggest Cure For Bruise On The Ankle

Yesterday i was in a soccer game and i went up against a really big girl and im not really sure if my ankle got kicked or steped on or what but now there is a bruise and it is swollen on th eoutside right and it hurts to walk and put pressure on, should i ice it or put heat on it?
