Suggest Cure For Infection On The Penis

Sir,

I'm 27 year old bachelor had sexual intercourse with prostitutes 3 times but always using a condom but in one instance the condom was broken and my penis got in contact with the vaginal liquids of the woman.

My penis is uncircumsized and since the last 3 to 4 years i had a red inflammable patch on glans of my penis. There is of course no pain but this rash becomes reddish after masturbation or sex.

After going through the internet i came to know that my symptoms match exactly with that of balinitis. But i'm not clear wether it is a sexually transmitted desease or is any normal fungal infection.

Would be very grateful to you if you can suggest any remedy/medicine for my long suffering.

Thanking you in advance sir,

S.Kumar

Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

The red inflammed patch that you notice probably is a "balanitis", and is it likely to be candidal in etiology.
Candidal balanitis can be acquired sexually. Vaginal discharge and vulval itching are the usual symptoms in infected females.
However, it is not considered as an STD, as it can happen otherwise as well; diabetes should be ruled out, particularly of it is recurrent.
If I was the treating doctor I would have asked you to use a topical antifungal cream.
You may try Clotrimazole 1% cream for a week which is available OTC.
A single dose of an oral antifungal e.g fluconazole 150 mg is also curative.
I would suggest that you visit a specialist in your region for a confirmatory diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Regards
