i have recently discovered i have tonsil stones, and the last few days have been cleaning my mounth more then i ever have before, brushing, scraping, flosing rinsing, last nite i started to fell lumps on the back of my tounge, not feel them with my finger, i can just feel them there, any ideas?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...
As per your complain first thing that I would like to explain you is that if you have tonsil stones they need to be removed manually and just rinsing, brushing and scraping tongue will not remove them if they are not loosely attached.. The inflamed circumvallate papillae can be due to excessive chemical exposure via mouthwashes, inflammation caused due to scraping with tongue scraper etc.. You need not to put too many efforts to maintain hygiene and regular hygiene practices are fine enough.. You can use a q-tip to remove the stones and gargle after meals and limit the intake of dairy products to prevent stone formation. For inflamed papillae do warm saline gargles, soda bicarb gargles and suck ice..
Hope this information helps..
