Suggest Cure For Persistent Cough

My nearly 4 years old son is not well since two weeks. He is coughing ,he toook Ventolin syrup + pholtex syrup last week. Since yesterday still coughing again , the doctor prescribe Solupred and has given him already twice please advise what can be done.
