Hi,

The calf muscle pain and pain behind the knee is due to the lost electrolyte in the stool. He need to investigate with stool routine micro examination and stool culture for further work up.

He needs to given antibiotic course and hydration should be maintained with lots of water. The vital Z like electrolyte powder also should be given with water.

It's advisable to consult him to the nearby paediatrician and discuss all these.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
