Suggest Cure For Spinal Problem

I am 30 year old male diagnosed in 2001 chiari malformation one.I dealt with the pain until now and am scheduled to see a neurosurgeon Nov.12th to finally follow up.Mri was already done last month.What types of questions should I ask? Should I request a CINE MRI or an upright?I also have a syrinx (spinal) and have been told that if syrinx has caused nerve damage that surgery may not alleviate my symptoms is this true??
